Pilates Exercise

Pilates Excercises

In order to correct muscle imbalances it is necessary to both lengthen and tighten muscles, then strengthen the weak ones and thereafter teach the body the right muscle combinations and movement patterns.

In Pilates:

  • You increase your body awareness
  • You become familiar with good and bad spinal posture
  • You are trained to breathe correctly
  • You learn to isolate and use deep abdominal muscles to support the spine
  • Key postural muscles are targeted as you learn to train the muscles from the inside out

Our classes are limited to a small number - 6 to 8 per class.

We provide provide individual assessment to ensure correct technique. All of the exercises are gentle and suitable for people who have back pain or joint problems.

Our Modified Pilates Classes are taught by a physiotherapist:

  • Stephanie Crossland M.I.S.C.P.
  • Jennie Cronin M.I.S.C.P.
  • Hana Burrow M.I.S.C.P.
  • Suzanne Skelton M.I.S.C.P.
